Late 1926 card (not 1930 as graders wrongly claim) of Rene Lacoste, from the 125-cards multi-sports series by Amatller, this of the sub-series of 25 lawn tennis cards from the 125-card collection. How do I know it's 1926 not 1930? Just look at the other cards in the series. The only dates on these cards are 1926 and earlier. Juan Ral, Spain's erstwhile expert on cards also confirmed this, he said winter 1926-27 was the time of issue. A superb-looking card with a neat green ink stamp to the rear, but otherwise clean and sharp looking, just one corner has a tiny snag, at the back. I'd say this is "excellent" even with the green ink stamp to the rear. The best I have seen in 30 years. A very beautiful, very early LaCoste card. SOLD AS SEEN
